“The important thing is that city and state authorities understand that the entire complex should be used as a pilgrimage site of sorts, where people would come to spend an entire afternoon,  a place where cultural content will be available in addition to the memorial one. And, of course, it should serve an educational purpose too, as the subjects like civic education have already been included into school curriculum. There is a crying need to introduce high quality content into civic education curricula, the content that would, among other things, promote and teach non-violence and tolerance.”
